There is a deep-rooted history in accents, especially in the UK, and sometimes the thoughts and feelings around this interferes with learning an accent purely as a skill. Many expats who migrate to work in English-speaking countries, such as the USA, Canada and UK, feel that they need to upskills via accent training in order to be heard by the native speaker around them.

Oftentimes many non-native speakers will find frustration in their journey of communicating in a language that is not their own.
