Gaynor opened Grace & Favours (Cakes & Catering) in July 2013 with the hope that her tasty creations would win the hearts of not only family and friends but the people of Stoke-on-Trent looking for the perfect celebratory cake.

In September 2013, Gaynor joined a newly launched BforB Ladies referral marketing group in Alsager and has seen her business go from strength to strength.

Gaynor commented, 'I could have never predicted that after only six months of trading I would be opening my own tea room! The connections I have made since joining BforB Ladies Alsager has been the catalyst to my business growth.

She continued, 'All of the women in the group are serious about their businesses but some also have young families, so a perfect catchment for my baking parties and celebration cakes! I have also been able to target the corporate market baking cupcakes with branded logos for events and customer gifts.'

Grace & Favours received over £800 worth of corporate cupcake orders in December 2013 all generated through the referral marketing network.

'When you start a new business every penny you earn goes back into the company to make sure you are staying afloat. Some business owners may be wary of the investment into a referral marketing network but for me it has been the best investment I could have made.'

In January 2014, Gaynor opened a tea room called 'The Little Vintage Tea Room' in Bucknall after receiving enquiries from customers about hosting baby showers, birthday parties and afternoon tea. The tea room is already fully booked for Mother's Day celebrations.

Sarah White, Regional Director of BforB Staffordshire Ladies commented, 'I have got to say that Gaynor's cakes are some of the best I have ever tasted. All of our members at Alsager have either ordered from Gaynor or passed business her way and it is great to see her business expanding so quickly.'

Sarah continued, 'The reason that BforB Staffordshire Ladies was established stemmed from my own personal experience of breakfast networking groups and the struggles women in business faced. We needed a platform that was at a convenient time and which would help women who were serious about business growth.'

Business for Breakfast (BforB) Staffordshire Ladies is a business club whose key aim is to help women significantly grow their business through relationship marketing and the passing of qualified and quality referrals.
