Since its debut in February 2012, the Business Buzz series of networking events has been attended by 842 unique businesses across Hertfordshire, welcoming the local business communities to connect at its regular monthly meetings.

For the first time, Business Buzz has been nominated and shortlisted in the FSB Hertfordshire Small Business Awards in the 'Networking Group of the Year' category. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony at Shendish Manor on 13th June.

Katrina Sargent, one of the founders of the Business Buzz network says: "We were so pleased to discover we'd made it as finalists for the FSB Awards 'Networking Group of the Year', there is some stiff competition but when I look back to how much we have achieved in the last year I think we deserve to be here, I am very excited and can't wait for the awards evening!"

Business Buzz is an informal and relaxed monthly networking event, with no advanced bookings and just £5 on the door, which includes unlimited teas and coffees from 10am - 12pm. In April 2013 Business Buzz Letchworth became the 6th Business Buzz group, which will be held at The Goldsmith Centre on the third Wednesday of every month. Business Buzz is already present in St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Harpenden, Watford and Hertford with talks of expansion into further Hertfordshire towns in the coming months.

2013 also saw the launch of the Business Buzz newsletter which is an opportunity for local businesses to be seen and heard by buzzing businesses across the whole network.

Every Business Buzz is hosted by a local business owner, who already has a great insight into the local business community. Their role is to connect local businesses with other attendees, dependent on their specific requirements to benefit both parties.

Before launching Business Buzz last year, Katrina Sargent recognised that many SMEs were absorbed in the day-to-day running of their businesses, that they were missing out on opportunities right on their doorstep. Every Business Buzz in centrally located, making them accessible for local business owners to walk down, drop in and connect. These businesses are often facing the same challenges, so this gives them a great platform to learn from each other and recommend new connections and business opportunities that will help one another succeed.
