The Islington Chamber of Commerce launches the Local Enterprise Club

The Islington Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of its new Enterprise Club, encouraging local residents of Islington to start their own businesses as an alternative to employment.

The Islington Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of its new Enterprise Club, encouraging local residents of Islington to start their own businesses as an alternative to employment. With help from the Local Initiatives Fund (Islington Council) and North London Job Centre Plus the ICoC will run an weekly meet-up session encouraging local residents to develop their business ideas.

The Local Enterprise Club has been set up in line with the ICoC's ongoing commitment to fairness and CSR in Islington and will empower local business

The ICoC Local Enterprise Club will offer local residents the opportunity to:

• meet people who are already self-employed, who can tell you about their experiences

• meet people that want to become self-employed - to share your ideas and skills and encourage each other to work through your business ideas

• get information and advice about setting up a business

• get financial, legal and market advice

• access the internet

• develop business ideas into going concerns

• access to a business mentor

Who should apply

Local Islington Residents who are:

• Not currently in any other training programme

• Unemployed

• Been thinking about starting up a business but have not had the courage to do so

• If you fit any of the above you, The Enterprise Club is definitely for you.

The Chamber will be accepting applications to join the Enterprise Club on August 22nd 2012.
