On November 1st, at the auspicious Grand Connaught Rooms, the ICoC and Camden Business Network will be hosting the 2nd Annual "CIBAs" Awards Gala event. The Camden and Islington Business Awards promises to showcase the very best business talent from across these 2 vibrant boroughs. In 2011 150 guests attended the inaugural business awards which recognised the efforts of local businesses and charities in both Camden and Islington. Special guests included the Chief Executive of Islington Council, Lesley Seary and the current Leader of Camden Council, Sarah Haywood. This year the awards are supported by Camden Council, Islington Council, Voluntary Action Islington and The Islington Climate Change Partnership.

The awards have been established to recognise and celebrate those business owners in Camden and Islington who have successfully grown and maintained their business positioning throughout 2011 and 2012. It is also an opportunity to increase the exposure of the local businesses within the local Area.

Winners included the MIC Hotel and Conference Centre Winner, Hospitality Provider of the Year; Cushion the Impact won Business Service Provider of the Year and Camden Town Unlimited, Winner of the People's Choice Award (who received over 220 votes).

Nominations are welcome from, Self-employed business owners, SMEs, Businesses with 5+ employees, Business partnerships, Social enterprises and Charities & Community Interest Companies. Categories include 'The Young Entrepreneurs of the Year', 'Local Employer of The Year', 'Best Creative Business', 'Small Business of The Year' and 'The People's Choice Award'. Organisations are welcome to nominate themselves or their business clients may suggest a nomination - the chamber will then invite companies to complete the nomination form. The Awards will be judged by prominent business leaders Patrick Clarke and Vanessa Vallely.
