Business women from Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Norfolk are coming together to motivate and support each other. In these tough economic times more and more women are being forced to consider self employment and that comes with a mountain of additional skills that women need to learn.

In 2011 through the Business Womans Network business women have been accessing new skills and hearing from some of the best speakers in the UK including a millionaire mentor from James Caans' Entrepreneurial Business Academy, a Bestselling author and a speaker who has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show.

"It's imperative that if business women give up 2 hours from their working day that it's useful to them. Networking is great for promoting and leading to business enquiries but with the speakers on top business women are accessing skills and overcoming fears." Said founder Mandie Holgate.

Business women have accredited the BWN to some of their successes of the year. One business woman said it had led to her biggest contract of the year and many have overcome their fear of public speaking or picking up the phone to ask for the sales thanks to training from people like Gary Morgan who works for national corporate including Yell.com and Nick Looby who has worked for international corporations training them in effective communication. All learnt at the BWN.

To celebrate business women from around the BWN network are coming together to network, shop and promote their businesses one last time in 2011. The event includes mini makeovers and mini photo shoots courtesy of Sally Parkinson Photography. The event at the Crowne Plaza in Colchester (formerly known as Five Lakes Country Club, Spa and Hotel) starts at 10am on the 15th and is open to all women in business.

Organisers advised that the guest list is very diverse with professions from accountants and web designers to bakers and interior designers booked. Charities are also attending including Headway, Oxfam and Signpost, with Farleigh's Hospice very pleased to be involved with the BWN after The BWN raised over £5000 for their charity in 2011.

The BWN has not gone unnoticed for its work to business women, being invited to addresses by the Home Secretary, visits to the Home office and Dept of BIS and meetings with the Bank of England ensuring business women's views are heard. And this accumulated with being finalist in the Colchester business awards this year in 3 categories, something unachieved by other local networking groups.

We would love to see you at this event to meet local business women on Thursday. If you are able to cover the event or would like to interview Mandie Holgate please contact her on 01206 381482 or 07989 935556

The group will be at Crowne Plaza Hotel, near Colchester from 10am on Thursday 15th, 2011.
