As part of the ICoC's strive to do more business in Camden the Chamber has successful gained the right of ownership of the Camden women's forum. Successful negotiation with the Camden Council means the forum will be moved to the Chambers ownership. The Camden's Women Forum was due to be closed down due to the cuts and Ronke Lawal put the chamber forward to take over.

The Camden Women's Forum had 500+ members with free membership 50% of members was from Camden and Islington the other 40% from across London and the Last 10% from home countries. The Camden's Women Forum also currently has strategic links with British Strategy, Beehive & Lynne Franks, The October Gallery and the Hospital Club. The Camden Women's Forum holds bi monthly events ans information sharing with 75-100 delegates with a 25% no show rate upon registration.

The Proposal that the Islington Chamber of Commerce presented showed the Chamber was keen to engage with businesses in Camden. The IcoC is keen to ensure that business in Camden are given vibrant and focussed platform. The IcoC propose to keep the membership free and endeavour to do events quarterly within Camden with the use of key strategic partners to promote the forum and give the Camden Women more scope to network and gain resources from other boroughs such as the City of London, Hackney and Islington.

Ronke Lawal states ' After receiving my somewhat brief proposal Camden council are happy to pass the forum onto the chamber ownership -I shall place it under the banner of the newly formed Camden Business Network. It is a fantastic opportunity to begin to build our brand recognition within Camden.'

The Camden Women's Forum is separate from the Islington Chamber of Commerce. Those who are part of the network will inadvertently see the greater benefits of joining the ICoC or the Camden business network.

Ronke Lawal also states ' It is important we get this right so our female directors and active members; Jane Lewis and Phyllis Mills may wish to take a lead on this. Other members will be invited to be part of any steering committee'

Members are used to free events which can be sustained under the current climate but will maintain high quality and that is what the Chamber of Commerce thrives to do.
