Chamber's recycling project shortlisted for the London Business Awards

2010 has been an exciting year for the Islington Chamber of Commerce. With increased activity, rejuvenated marketing campaign, a re-brand and increased press awareness; the chamber is becoming one of London's most vibrant business membership organizations. Having been shortlisted for Enterprise UK's London Enterprise Awards earlier this year, we are proud to announce that The ICoC's Business Waste Recycling Project has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Regeneration Project of the Year category in the London Business Awards 2010. "The impact of the project has been evident throughout the year and recognition of its achievements is yet another example of the chamber's drive towards continued success for both its members and the local business community as a whole", Ronke Lawal - Chief Executive.

The awards, which are organised by Archant London in association with HSBC, recognise projects and businesses in London which have excelled over the year. Clare Matheson, Project Officer at the ICoC commented: "Being shortlisted is important as it recognises the hard work carried out by the project since it started in December 2009. To date the project has assisted over 180 businesses and third sector organisations in the borough, providing them with free waste and recycling advice and helping many to save hundreds of pounds on their annual waste collection bill. This not only helps small businesses in the area but also has a positive impact on the environment."

The Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 24th November 2010 at Planit, Embankment Gardens WC2. The overall winner for each category will be announced on the night and presented with an award and certificate on stage.
