Love is in the air as Valentines Day approaches and Cupid is pointing his bow and arrow to help raise funds for Little Havens Children's Hospice.

On the 12th February, Little Havens is inviting schools, workplaces, groups and clubs to show their love for the charity by taking part in a special fundraising event. In return for a donation participants are asked to wear something pink or blue. All proceeds will go towards the hospice based in Thundersley, which costs £2.3 million to keep open every year and supports several local children.

Community Fundraiser, Tricia Norris, for Little Havens says:

"It's an easy and effective way of raising awareness and vital funds for the charity, and people of all ages can take part. So why not get your students, friends and colleagues involved and spread a little love. It's simple: Wear something pink, wear something blue, and show Little Havens I love you!"

The Business Woman's network jumped at the opportunity to support this campaign. Mandie Holgate from the B.W.N said " The B.W.N is passionate about supporting local business and organisations to get the results they want, So when Little Havens Children's Hospice contacted us we were more than happy to get involved." So on the 9th of Feb along with learning about Blogging for Business and helping their businesses succeed over 40 local Business Women were wearing Pink & Blue and supporting charity too.

Splash of Ice sold their gorgeous jewellery donating 10% too taking the final amount well over £100. "If every business in Colchester raised £100 think of the impact we could have on charity in our area" Said Mandie Holgate.

Little Havens Children's Hospice provides respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care for youngsters living with serious conditions and who are not expected to reach adulthood.

It aims to make their journey - and that of the family - as comfortable as possible, creating special memories along the way.

The love and care provided by the Care Team in the homely surroundings at Little Havens is as special and unique as the child
