A BRAND new business network is proving a hit with cash strapped businesses just one month after its launch. The group aimed at supporting businesses to share ideas and build partnerships is backed by a panel of local entrepreneurs who give their time for free to support others through the downturn.

Event organiser Sophie Bullock, who works as a surveyor said "business networking is seen as one of the most effective ways for businesses to find new customers and when marketing budgets are squeezed it's even more important to try a different approach.

The network describes itself as 'the place where busy people meet to get connected' and with interest from over 100 businesses in its first month; they could be on to something. Co creator Alastair Brookes explains, "Our meetings are a huge success and businesses are telling us they built some really useful partnerships

With plans for a second monthly event already underway, the group is keen to extend its reach. "The success of these events is simply down to businesses getting involved" says Alastair.

Encouraged by its early success, the group is now looking for a sponsor and wishes to partner with a local charity.

The next event will be held on June 3 at Hagley Golf & Country Club, Wassell Grove, Hagley from 6:30pm.
