This IWI visit will deliver powerful insight into customer excellence through innovation and offer a window into the IPO stated aims to assist UK business leverage their intellectual property to improve their international competitiveness and also protect their most critical asset. IPO is constantly improving its services to organisations and has embraced strong continuous improvement goals.

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is the official UK government body responsible for intellectual property (IP) rights including patents, designs, trade marks and copyright.

The Patent Office was set up in 1852 to grant patents, although the origins of the patent system date back a further 400 years.

We're now a team of over 1,000, with our main offices in Newport. The team is made up of specialists in rights-granting, IT, finance and HR. In addition, we also hold Investor in People and Customer Excellence awards for our training and development of staff and commitment to customer service respectively, as well as a TW3 award for our Adaptive ways of working.

Cultural change in an organisation of well over 1,000 people doing very different jobs can be challenging, and you have to be in it for the long haul!
