SIMEC Uskmouth Power (SUP) is part of a multi faceted commodity group spanning five continents, with operations that extend to an industrial base covering Shipping, Industry, Mining, Energy and Commodities.
SUP became part of the SIMEC group family on December 2014. SUP is a 393mW coal fired power plant in a strategic location for the UK grid. The plant currently is capable of co-generation with coal and biomass or waste material. Plans are under way for its conversion to full renewables source.
SIMEC is also creating a Centre of Excellence at its SUP site for all renewable energy sources including combination of Pyrolysis utilizing RDF, waste and tyres, Fuel Cells, Wind, Solar, Tidal generation and quick response power generation systems.
This IWI visit will take you inside SIMEC's strategy for interconnected supply chains in industry and why we should use renewable energy and local skills to upcycle and engineer it into value-added products for a wide range of applications.
The visit will be complimented with a site tour and a window into some of the projects being developed.
Delegates will gain insight into green supply chains and take inspiration from the depth of thinking in evidence at SIMEC and the drive to succeed.
