Islington Chamber Member is Bringing a Smile to Islington!

National Smile Month is coming to Islington, as Angel Smile Dental and Orthodontic Care will be holding special events to back the national campaign.

To show their support, the team from Angel Smile Dental and Orthodontic Care in Angel will be holding a smile on a stick session in its waiting room on 29 May and 5 June 2012 from noon to 3 pm that aims to to put the smile into National Smile Month. In opening their doors to the public, the team hope to raise awareness of how important oral health is. At the same time we can give people an educational experience and show them how everything works and what equipments are used in a dental practice.

Statistics show not enough children give consideration to their oral health, and that's where Angel Smile Dental and Orthodontic Care comes in. Angel Smile will be presenting at local primary schools during National Smile Month. With around eight or nine children in every class already suffering from tooth decay in primary schools across the UK, National Smile Month is the perfect opportunity to discuss and promote oral health. It's fun and educational, so children, teachers and parents alike can learn something from it.

Dr Banaie, the principal of Angel Orthodontics said: National Smile Month is an excellent opportunity to bring an element of fun to a serious issue. Good oral health is vital for a healthy smile as well as a healthy body. We'll be spreading this message not only on our open days at the practice but also we will have stands on public sites such as Gym, schools, banks & even streets of Islington throughout the month.

The British Dental health foundation's Chief Executive Dr Nigel Carter said: "I'm delighted that Angel Smile Dental and Orthodontic Care has joined the many schools, colleges, health professionals and other dental practices in engaging with National Smile Month. It is a great reflection of local community spirit and an excellent way to promote good oral health.

Taking place from 20 May to 20 June, the campaign is an ideal opportunity to learn about oral health in a fun and positive way. By making an event as fun and imaginative as possible, we hope it will inspire more people to join in the fun than ever before while delivering the Foundation's three key messages for good oral health of brush for two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks and visit the dentist regularly - as often as they recommend.
