ISLINGTON CHARITY WINS BUSINESS WASTE RECYCLING PRIZE DRAW

A local charity that received information and assistance through the Business Waste Recycling Project has won the project's prize draw to win tickets for 2 to an upcoming theatre production at Sadler's Wells theatre in Islington.

The charity, INQUEST, which provides a free advice service to bereaved people on contentious

deaths and their investigation with a particular focus on deaths in custody have since taken up one

of the services recommended by the project which allows them to recycle a variety of material's

including paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and tin cans free of charge.

The business waste recycling project, run by the Islington Chamber of Commerce, funded by the

Islington Strategic Partnership and supported by Voluntary Action Islington has assisted not only

INQUEST but 70 other businesses and charities to sign up to recycling services since the start of

2010.

Clare Matheson, Project Officer at the Islington Chamber of Commerce said:

'We are delighted that a local charity was selected to win the theatre tickets and we hope the

enthusiasm of INQUEST to minimise their environmental footprint through introducing a free

recycling service encourages other businesses and third sector organisations to do the same.'

Clare added:

'We would also like to thank Sadler's Wells who donated the tickets for their kind support of the

project'.

The project is able to provide information on recycling a variety of materials including paper,

cardboard, used cooking oil, clothing/textiles, batteries, light bulbs, furniture and printer cartridges.
