Networking Group Profile: RAR BTCC Business Network

What is your Networking Organisation called?

RAR BTCC Business Network

How long has the organisation been running events?

7 months

Where do you run your events and how frequently?

At UK motorsport circuits, the Friday afternoon before each BTCC race weekend (10 events, April through October for the 2016 season)

Briefly describe your events?

Arrive for 2pm, within the RAR VIP BTCC paddock awning. Rob Austin (race winner and fans favourite BTCC driver) gives a presentation and Q&A around 2.30 for a half hour, followed by the opportunity for guests to split their time between the paddock awning and the pit garage (seeing the car being prepared for the race weekend ahead) all the time networking with other guests. The event closes at 5pm.

What do you think makes your events different?

The exclusive backdrop of the BTCC paddock.

What kinds of businesses attend your events?

Wide range, from small local (to each circuit) businesses through to national/multinational businesses across services, manufacturing and financial industries.

What is your top tip for people attending your events?

‘Petrol head’ or not, many of the guests will not have experienced being within a top flight motorsport paddock & team environment and will likely be in awe of the business of motorsport (the dedication, professionalism and budgets involved, let alone performance!). This shared discovery and parallels of motorsport to business, catalyses natural discussion between guests.
