Starting and finishing at Flotterstone, where there is plenty of parking (and a pub), this netwalk has some lovely sheltered, low-level sections as well as the ascent of Castlelaw Hill.

The views from the top of Castlelaw are superb, taking in the Moorfoots, Lammermuirs and Border Hills and across to the Ochils.

We will meet at Flotterstone car park NT232631at 1.30 pm.

Flotterstone is on the A702 Biggar Road. If coming from Edinburgh you will pass Woodhouselee then Easter Howgate; Flotterstone is on the right at the bottom of a dip in the road. On turning off the main road, go right, past the Flotterstone Inn to the large car parking area on the right hand side. There is a Visitor Centre there so look for that if in doubt.
