The last 18 months have been strange for many of us in terms of what we do, how we do it, the changes we have had to make, how we have adapted and the decisions that we have had to make.

During lhe last few months since the July Zoom event, I have had no events to host or plan; I have done little or no social media posting and have barely spent any time on LinkedIn.

All this "non activity" gave me time to reflect on the last 14 years….my first event as host was May 2007….and can honestly say that I have enjoyed every event - the meeting and greeting, the business seminars, the coffees, the chat, the catching up, the new faces, the lunches (even those 3 course one's), the 10 minutes, the banter and humour, the different venues, the raffles, the quizzes…..the Zoom events…..and most of all the way that conversations opened the way for opportunities to follow.

There is a but…..

…….and the but is that looking ahead I have made the decision that I will no longer be hosting and organising networking events in Bristol.

I would like to thank each and everyone for their support, encouragement, attendance, humour over the last 14 years, that's 168 lunches and many thousands of conversations.

I have been working in my wife, Jane's accountancy business since the start of the pandemic and have enjoyed my role.

The business is growing in terms of the number of clients, size of the team and has even resulted in setting up a new business…. my skills are being gainfully employed! I may well be calling on the expertise that is, you, the network for help in the future.

I can tell you that there is a tear in my eye as I say farewell and a smile in my heart for all the joy that you, as a member of Bristol Business Network, brought - thank you!

"It's time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I'd much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure." Ernie Harwell

Wishing you every deserved success for the future and I am sure that our paths will cross again

Have a great day, month, year and future
