Inspired Marketing

Briefly describe what your business does?

I help small and medium businesses with their marketing and PR. Some people need consultancy to help with a specific projects, other people come on workshops I run to learn how to do their own marketing and PR. I have big ideas on a small budget!

Which networking group(s) do you attend?

The Last Friday Club (Last Friday of every month at 12.30 for one hour at bar Elevan sponsored by Ramsdens solicitors), I go to 4N breakfast and evening groups in Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Skipton, Ilkley, Wakefield, Castleford,Federation of Small Business branch meetings, Ladies 4 Networking Brighouse, Brighouse Link, Creative Calderdale Events, Yorkshire Mafia, Yorkshire Marketing Mafia, Brand Yorkshire events

How often do you attend networking events?

I attend at least 3 a week but target the areas where I am promoting upcoming workshops in person.

How much of your business is directly or indirectly derived from attending business networking events?

95% of my business has come from the people I have either met networking or who have been recommended to use me by someone who I have met networking.

What format of networking event do you most enjoy?

I prefer networking with a little structure. I prefer it to get to know people before I pass referrals and then I like to network with them on a regular basis to build on the trust in the relationship.

What do you feel you gain from attending networking events?

As a relatively new small business I get a lot from networking, not just sales! I have built a large network of contacts who can offer expert advice and find the support and motivation from being around likeminded positive people valuable.

What is your top networking tip?

Smile and always be friendly! You never know who you will meet or who that person may know.
